Oshkosh CVB Brings in a Big Event!

At a recent seminar I attended I had the opportunity to speak with one of the organizers of the Waupaca Boatride Volleyball Tournament.

This is the tournament discussed in a recent OshNW article:

Oshkosh to host nearly 3,000 players for world's largest volleyball tournament, festival this July

The U.S. Open Volleyball Tournament and Festival, the largest tournament of its kind in the world, is coming to Oshkosh July 8 through 11.

Some 3,000 players from across the country will compete on more than 200 courts set up at the Ford Festival Park. Teams from more than 30 states and several foreign counties are expected.

The gentleman I spoke with spoke very highly of the work our Oshkosh Conventions and Visitor's Bureau did to assist them in making the arrangements that made the movement of this event to Oshkosh possible.

Also, they are arranging buses to take the players downtown on Thursday night to enjoy Waterfest.

This is a great event for Oshkosh, and a potential long-term addition to our community.

For an idea of the amount of visitors there will be coming to Oshkosh, look here.

Great job!
